The Bell at Hardwick is working with local wine expert and importer Rob Seddon of Jackson & Seddon to restock our wine selection as well as our speciality spirits. In addition, over the coming six months Rob, who won the prestigious Scottish Hotel of the Year 2017 and took part in a BBC TV show, ‘Second Chance Summer’, will be working with us introducing and showcasing his Organic wines in public and corporate wine tastings and supper clubs. Pecorino (Organic) – Offida, Le Marche
The Pecorino grape also takes its name due to the fact that sheep are used to keep the grass levels in the vineyard down who then go off to make Pecorino cheese. A nose of Jasmine, flavours of white peach and apricot. A high alcohol content, yet this doesn’t mask any of the flavours. Pair it with: Fresh fish

Poggio al Commissario (Organic) – Paganico, Tuscany
An every day wine, a real crowd pleasing wine. Big dark fruity flavours, hints of tobacco, spice and liquorice. Everyone that stays with Gregorio at his agritourismo loves this wine when they arrived, as it’s so easy to drink and not a complicated wine. Many a none red wine drinker has been converted with this wine though.
Grape Varietals: Sangiovese (65%), Merlot (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Alicante (5%)
Pavone (Organic & Vegan) – Cinigiano, Tuscany
This vintage needs some time out of the bottle to really open up and then when it does it’s loaded with juicy flavours of alcoholic cherry and a kick of spice to send you on your way. Aged in 25HL Oak barrels for 2 years with biodynamic principals used as well as natural filtration, making this very tasty and Vegan friendly.

Ripasso Superiore della Valpolicella DOC 2016 (Organic) – Verona, Italy
The Ripasso name comes from the method of making the wine where Amarone grapes are added to the juice to create a re-passing process which intensifies the flavours and give the wine a whole lot more depth of flavour. Soft and smooth with a hint of lazy spice, all the wine makers skills have come into place to create one of the most sensational Ripasso wines we have every tried.
