Pre-Dinner Sherry & Pineau50ml
PX ‘Piedra Luenga’, Bodegas Robles, Montilla-Morales, Spain (15%) (O)(V) (Natural Cork)
Award-winning sweetie, that's dark mahogany in colour and full, fruity and lasting in the mouth. The already ripe grapes are dried on esparto grass mats in the hot Andalusian sun until they reach the optimum level of sweetness (at which point they are almost raisins) -- and then crushed. The aromas are captivating and evocative of sun-ripened fruits, and dried figs. In the mouth there are delicious raisiny/caramel flavours that border on the tropical.

Pineau des Charentes Blanc, Roland Seguin, France (17%) (O)(V) (Natural Cork)
A strong sweetish aperitif made by blending year old cognac with grape juice and maturing it in oak casks for a minimum of 8 months. An appealing and versatile drink that has enjoyed something of a renaissance in France (and beyond) in recent years. Try it with melon, blue cheese, as a dessert wine or in sauces and fruit salads. It's versatile!
Grape varieties: Ugni Blanc/Colombard2 3/4
Pineau des Charentes Rosé, Roland Seguin, France(17%) (O)(V) (Natural Cork)
Made in the same way as the Blanc but using red grape juice - the result is a slightly softer, smoother and fuller style of Pineau.

Amaretto Liqueur, Destillerie Dwersteg, Germany (20%) (O)(V) (Natural Cork)
High quality ingredients from certified organic local producers give this Amaretto its very special taste. A smooth and very polished almond liqueur from this award winning small distillery. Like their other liqueurs this is a very classy (and classily presented) tipple. Pour it on desserts, add to coffee or put the bottle in a brown paper bag and swig heartily (only joking!). An after dinner delight - can also be mixed with sparkling wine to great effect!
Grape varieties: Ugni Blanc/Colombard4
Cognac VSOP, Roland Seguin, France (40%) (O)(V)
A stylish cognac from the Seguins which has been aged in oak for over 10 years. VSOP stands for Very Special Old Pale - so named after the aged brandies sold in London in Victorian times. With more intensity, depth of colour and flavour than the VS.4
Dà Mhìle, Blended Whisky (46%)(O)(V)
The world's first organic blended whisky - a blend of 70% Loch Lomond Highland grain whisky and 30% of the organic 1992 Springbank Dà Mhìle (Gaelic for 2000) - which was, in turn, the world's first organic whisky. Fuller light gold in colour with deeper, richer flavours, some soft sweetness, fleshy, tropical fruit and spice notes. Distinct peaty character and typical Springbank saltiness comes through also. There's a wonderful lingering finish due to the fact that the whisky has not been chill filtered thus preserving all the flavours that have direct relevance to the taste and aroma of the whisky nor has any caramel been added to colour it.
Highland Harvest Organic Single Malt (46%)(O)(V)
Highland Harvest has produced one of the world's first organic whiskies, certified by the Soil Association, as well as receiving the Royal Warrant from HRH the Prince of Wales.
Highland Harvest Organic Whisky (40%)(O)(V)
A blend of 3 grain whiskies (highland, island and Speyside) with a highland malt, matured together in Scotland for 4 years. Distilled using natural barley and yeast, much as whisky was made a hundred years ago. There's an assumption that all whisky is organic when the reality is that modern farming techniques, including use of chemical fertilizers, are employed in the creation of key raw materials such as barley and maize. This is a keenly priced organic whisky whose producer says 'We have chosen a blend instead of a single malt because we believe that in relatively young whiskies this produces a superior range of flavours'. A smooth whisky with refined bursts of flavour. It is blended to please the palate, offering a creamy finish.
Papagayo' Spiced Golden Rum, Paraguay (37.5%)(O)(V)
A lightly golden rum distilled from pure sugar-cane, flavoured with organic spices - vanilla, ginger, a hint of chilli and caramel. The result is smooth and flavoursome.
‘Utkins UK5' Vodka, London (37.5%)(O)(V)
Produced in the smallest stills in London (Tom Thumb and Thumbelina), UK5 uses pure water and organic grain which has a denser cell structure and higher sugar ratio, making it ideal for the production of organic spirits. For the discerning Bloody Mary lover or in a wide variety of other concoctions.
‘Juniper Green' London Dry Gin (37.5%)(O)(V)
Dry, aromatic and zestful, only the finest organic botanicals - juniper, coriander, angelica root and savoury. The fact that the grain is organic allows the botanicals to shine through, and despite being only 37.5% it packs a decent punch. For those who like things to be properly done, Juniper Green is one of the few London gins these days to be distilled and bottled in that city.
Mo Gin, Destillerie Dwersteg, Germany (45%)(O)(V)
This London Dry developed by Monika Teriete has included only the essentials in her creation. It has a strong Juniper flavour enhanced with gentle floral notes of orange and lavender flowers.
