My name is Alex and I have formed a new team to run The Bell at Hardwick. When I came to view The Bell I realised that it was the ideal location to be part of our new venture.
First of all, we will be gradually introducing Organic and FreeFrom on the specials board – where all items will be free of gluten, dairy, sugar, vegetable oil and non-fermented soy…..naturally – to make the whole menu more inclusive. The alcohol selection will also undergo a makeover – a choice of Organic wine (all of which we have tasted), all with minimal added sugar with some bottles free of sulphur dioxide and some grown biodynamically. Organically produced spirits will feature and we aim to stock a wide variety for the discerning enthusiasts.
Secondly, we will be converting the barn into a local shop during the day selling Organic and FreeFrom ingredients as well as Organic and FreeFrom frozen meals, meat and vegetables.
Lastly, but most importantly, we hope to ensure the pub becomes a favourite with visitors and locals by creating a local hub for the local societies and clubs. Having been brought up in a village and enjoyed boarding school I understand the importance of community and having a central location for meeting fellow enthusiasts and getting involved and learning about other pursuits.
